Evaluation
Myers Counseling Group provides substance abuse and anger management evaluations for schools and workplaces. Therapists evaluate and offer appropriate treatment recommendations based on assessment outcome. Written evaluation may be obtained as discussed with therapist.
Group Therapy
Children’s Therapy Groups are available for children ages 4-7, 8-10, and 11-13 with ADHD, behavioral, emotional, developmental, or situational challenges. It is an 8-week group focusing on improving social skills, coping strategies, and problem-solving skills. The group uses engaging activities to teach new skills each week with complementary do-at-home activiities to enable the child to practice new skills in home, community and school settings. It is our goal to maximize generalization of new skills beyond the group experience. |

Journaling for Teens is an eight week journal-based group designed to develop and encourage use of healthy coping skills in dealing with emotional, social, and mental health issues. The group is open to teenage girls experiencing depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety, family problems, and other issues. The group uses creative expression to convey thoughts and feelings. Journal activities challenge thought processes and belief systems that complicate relationships with family, friends, school, and community. The goal of this group is to assist teens in developing healthier ways of thinking and expression of emotion. |
Anger Management Groups are available for a variety of ages from children to adults. This eight-week group covers how and why we become angry and what can be done to manage anger in an effective manner. Stress management, communication skills, and understanding your anger triggers allow people to begin to develop life-long strategies for anger management. Group activities focus on issues that are appropriate to the age and make up of the group. |

Focus offers teenagers engaging in early use an opportunity to understand and explore the impact of substance use and abuse on individuals, relationships, and the community. A parent component is included in this group to facilitate discussion between parent and teen with regard to alcohol and other drugs. |
Chronic Pain and Illness Therapy Group is for individuals struggling with chronic pain or illness that interferes with their daily functioning. The group runs for eight weeks and allows individuals to understand the nature of pain and its’ impact on our emotional well-being. Explore new ways to manage and conceptualize your pain in ways that allow you to experience increased well-being. Understand pain cycles and how to use these to encourage personal growth and productivity. |

Women’s Group is for women who are experiencing difficulties in major life areas. Women struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, loneliness, lack of confidence, self-abuse, and other issues will find this group helpful in developing more productive coping skills. The group focuses on building your repertoire of strategies, as well as, improving communication, understanding how our mental health impacts relationships at home, work, and in the community. |

Surviving Divorce Group is a 10-week group for adults that addresses many issues regarding divorce or the end of a committed relationship. This group helps those who have been divorced for years, going through a divorce, or contemplating ending a relationship. |
